Love movies? Love scary movies? Then you'll love AmptHELL! An afternoon and evening of two awesome blockbuster movies, one classic, one a little newer (see What's On for details). As well as the scary movies, there will also be:

Live, on-stage interviews with a movie maker, writer, actor and Hollywood movie extra
An exclusive showing of a locally made suspenseful short fright film!

Films are classified , making this ideal for couples, groups or families with young adults with an interest in media and the film industry.

More information:

Prices on the door are £8 for a single movie, or £12 for both of them. The afternoon showing opens at 3pm and runs until 6pm; the evening showing is from 6:30pm until 10pm.
Unlike our normal system, you are reserving admission only, not particular seats or tables. If reserving by email, let us know which showing (matinee, evening, or both). If reserving using the online form, simply select the desired option from the movie menu.
There are limited seats for these showings; reserve early to avoid disappointment!

We're pleased to announce that the 2026 spring season movies are now confirmed:

January 10th: Bridget Jones: Mad about the Boy (15)
February 7th: The Ballad of Wallis Island (12A)
March 7th: Phantom Thread (15)
April 18th: The Roses (15)

Our spring season email, complete with previews of all upcoming films, will come out in December.

Reservation closing dates

We are introducing a change to the way we handle reservations: namely, adding a closing date before the film. This is so we can process the reservations without the possibility of missing last-minute reservations (which has happened in the past). Another reason to get your reservations in early! Changes to screenings and bookings

Starting with the Autumn 2024 season, we have a couple of changes to announce:

We have decided to discontinue the Matinee showings for the time being, and only put on Evening showings.
There's a new online reservation system that you can use instead of emailing us, which you may find more convenient. You can find it on the Reservations page.

Extra summer evening showing

We don't usually run movies during the summer months, but this summer we're making an exception! Since we did Barbie back in January, we thought we'd finish the Barbenheimer sequence by showing the award-winning Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy on Saturday June 15th.

It's an evening-only showing, and since it's quite a long film we'll be starting a bit earlier, at 7pm. Doors open at 6:15pm. We hope to see you there!

Sloop Groggy Dogs return!

We are pleased to announce that the Sloop Groggy Dogs will be back at the Zonita for the April 13 showing of Fisherman's Friends: One And All. They'll be playing for us just before the film starts, and also in the interval. Come and join us for a jolly sea-shanty sing-along!
